Glitch Productions, an indie animation company, has already brought on the hits with The Amazing Digital Circus, Murder Drones, The Gaslight District and the blockbuster 2D animation pilot Knights of Guinevere. And now, they’re about to do it again with Gameoverse, a brand new 2D animated series about video game worlds hitting this May.
Created in collaboration with showrunner, director, and writer Ross O’Donovan and writer Arin Hanson, Gameoverse promises that said video game worlds are exploding, and in order to save them, our heroes (?) will have to help the bad guy to stop the good guy.
“In 2015 I started putting together the plans for what would be Gameoverse,” O’Donovan said via press release. “Over those 11 years I put together many versions of what this show could be. Luckily, Kevin and Luke while visiting LA managed to see one of them in 2017. There were many times we spoke about the potential of working together, but it always came down to one thing. This had to be a 2D show. When Glitch approached me again about doing this show with them and it being 2D, it was a no brainer. I decided to start from scratch with my writing partner and friend, Arin Hanson. Thanks to Glitch, what we’ve made is truly the greatest version of this show that we could’ve ever conceived. I feel incredibly privileged to be able to finally share it with the world and get to create amazing animation with my hugely talented team. I’ve been a part of the online animation scene for over two decades now and never could I have imagined my dream project finding a better home than with Glitch. Thank you to everyone who supported me and got me to this point. I hope you enjoy your adventures in the Gameoverse.”

The voice cast includes: Erica Lindbeck (Helluvaboss, Smiling Friends) as Kit, JSchlatt (YouTuber/Streamer) as Kaboodle, Chris Sabat (Dragon Ball Z) as Warrick, Arin Hanson (Game Grumps) as Gobbles/Flappers, Elsie Lovelock (Hazbin Hotel, Murder Drones) as Ms Information and Michael Cusack (Co-Creator, Smiling Friends) as Snappers. It also features an original score from composers Grant Kirkhope (Banjo Kazooie, Goldeneye 007) and Jake Kaufman (Shovel Knight, Shantae).
