Jason Momoa’s Lobo Arrives In New ‘Supergirl’ Teaser

Jason Momoa as Lobo in Supergirl

While Milly Alcock’s Supergirl is the main event in, er, Supergirl, fans are also eagerly awaiting the debut of Jason Momoa’s Lobo. And that wait is over, thanks to new footage from the film that shows off the Main Man, flaming motorcycle and all.

The 30 second look is likely a new TV commercial, titled “Blast Off,” and perhaps presages a longer look in February 8th’s upcoming Super Bowl. But in addition to footage already seen in the main teaser for the movie, we get to see Lobo pull up to an alien bar, smoke a stogie, and laugh. No dialogue yet, but Supergirl does let us know that, “oh, he is such a–“

Nice guy? Salt of the Earth? I guess we’ll find out when the movie arrives on June 26, 2026.

Supergirl is based on Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow by Tom King and Bilquis Evely, and is directed by Craig Gillespie off a screenplay by Ana Nogueira. Here’s the official synopsis of the film:

When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice.

Along with Alcock and Momoa, the movie also stars Matthias Schoenaerts as villain Krem of the Yellow Hills, Eve Ridley as Ruthye, a young alien who tags along with Supergirl, plus David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham as Supergirl’s parents in flashbacks (they’re dead, just FYI).

Oh, and if you’re stoked about Lobo, naturally the DC Shop has launched a line of Lobo merch giving us an even better look at the bastich, including a hoodie, a poster, and a shirt that says, “Bite me, Fanboy.”
