Gail Simone is one of the most lauded Deadpool scribes of all time. She’s also a notorious online troll (complimentary). So it only makes sense to have Simone return to Deadpool for this year’s April Pool’s Day one-shot, featuring art by C.F. Villa and others.
In fact, this is just the tip (phrasing) of the Deadpool when it comes to what Marvel has planned this year, including “a boatload of surprises including merchandise, digital content, and more.” Hell yeah, I don’t know what I’m more excited for: digital content; or “and more.”
April Pool’s Day #1 hits stores on May 24. Just kidding, got you, it’s April 1, 2026. Check out covers by Mark Bagley, Chad Hardin, Matteo Lolli, and Phil Noto below, as well as the synopsis and solicit info. In addition, Kei Zama will draw a Death’s Head cover, and Marvel promises more covers to come.
