Marvel’s Spider-Man/Superman Announces Creative Teams:
Hot on the heels of DC’s Superman/Spider-Man, Marvel has announced their half of the crossover with the April debuting Spider-Man/Superman #1. And the creative teams for the book include Geoff Johns delivering his first Marvel work in two decades, and Brad Meltzer writing for Marvel for the first time ever.
Meltzer will write the lead story alongside artist Pepe Larraz, featuring the title characters. In addition, Dan Slott and Marcos Martin will tackle Spider-Man Noir meeting Golden Age Superman, Geoff Johns and Gary Frank send the Super and Spider families against each other, Jason Aaron and Russell Dauterman bring on The Mighty Thor and Wonder Woman, Louise Simonson and Todd Nauck pit Steel against Hobgoblin, Joe Kelly and Humberto Ramos cross over Gwen Stacy and Lana Lang, and Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli are back at Miles Morales. Who meets Superman. To be clear.
Spider-Man/Superman #1 hits stores on April 15, just in time to report it on your taxes.
DC Overtakes Marvel In Market Share:
For the first time since we’ve been reporting on this, DC Comics has beaten Marvel when it comes to share of the comic book market.
Per ICv2, DC snagged 32.6% of the market share in the fourth quarter of 2025, coming in at number one versus Marvel’s 29.6% market share. While it’s still a relatively tight margin, it does mark a big change not just from the previous quarter, but from pretty much every quarter before that as well.
This is in line what what we saw on single issue sales as well, with DC’s Absolute Universe and Batman title selling blockbuster numbers, while some of Marvel’s eventized comics including the X-Men Age of Revelation event have not quite connected in the same way.
As for other publishers? Pretty much everything stayed the same, though Kodansha hopped into the Top 10 in place of Titan Comics.
Eisner Awards Name 2026 Judges:
The judges for this year’s Eisner Awards, the most prestigious award in comics, have been announced.
Per The Beat, with the awards under a new administrator, a new line of judges — who will select the nominees placed on the ballot — will be chosen as well. They include: journalist Tiffany Babb; librarian Jerry Dear; teacher and editor Dr. Randy Duncan; bookstore owner Katie Pryde, no relation to the X-Man; and comic book writer, editor, and essayist Regine L. Sawyer.
Congrats to all the judges. Now, let’s vote on our favorite. Just kidding.
