This is Comic Book Club News for December 26, 2025.

MCU Fantastic Four Adventures Continue:

While there’s no word yet about a direct sequel to the MCU movie Fantastic Four: First Steps — the characters will appear in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars — we are getting not one, not two, but four sequel comics coming from Marvel in 2026.

The first of those? Fantastic Four: First Foes #1 by former FF scribe Dan Slott, with art by Mark Buckingham, who previously drew the Fantastic Four: First Steps comic released earlier this year. As with that previous volume, First Foes is under the conceit that it’s released by the Future Foundation in the continuity of the MCU movie. And in this case, it’ll expand on something mostly left out of the film: the team’s fight with the Mad Thinker, who is “determined to get his proper due by turning the city of tomorrow against its heroic patrons!”

In addition to the main story, there will also be a two-page “Fantastic Science” feature written by Ryan North, inspired by a similar section in the movie.

Fantastic Four: First Foes #1 will hit stores on March 4, 2026 from Marvel, with, presumably word about the other three comics coming later in 2026.

Wonder Man Gets A New Series:

Hot the heels of Wonder Man hitting Disney+ at the end of January, two months later Marvel Comics will release a five-issue series by Gerry Duggan and Mark Buckingham with the comic book version of Wonder Man, who does not look like Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who is playing him on TV. Comics: gotta love ’em!

In the limited series, Wonder Man is back in Hollywood, and while trying to still make it in Tinsel Town he also is involved in a “deadly mystery involving an old friend.” As teased in the recently concluded Longshots miniseries co-written by Duggan, Hellcat will be along for the ride.

Wonder Man #1 hits stores on March 18, 2026 from Marvel Comics.

Jed MacKay Leaving Avengers:

Jed MacKay is finishing up his time on Avengers with March 2026’s Avengers #36. Featuring art by Farid Karami, the issue will set up the next era of the title by a team TBA.

Said MacKay, “It’s sad to say goodbye to the Avengers after the last few years of chronicling their adventures, but we certainly had some fun- introducing them to the Impossible City, putting them against their old nemesis, Kang, and even putting them through their paces in the blood-soaked first ever Red Band event! I got to work some of the best artists working today on some of the biggest characters Marvel has, and I’ll always remember my time with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes fondly!”

In the final issue, Marvel teases that “everything Jed MacKay has built comes crashing down in this startling finale that will redefine the Avengers’ future!”

What that future is? Well, seems like we might have to wait a while, as Marvel explains that the Armageddon lead-up stories in Wolverine: Weapons of Armageddon, Captain America, and the Armageddon/X-Men Comics Giveaway Day books will explain more. And the publisher has also teased that Armageddon will be the most seismic shift in Avengers status quo since Avengers: Disassembled. So will there be an Avengers title at all in April and beyond? TBA.

Avengers #36 hits stores on March 4, 2026.
