This is Comic Book Club News for December 15, 2025.
He-Man Goes Ongoing:
He-Man — and if you can believe it, the Masters of the Universe — are getting a new ongoing series from Dark Horse Comics.
Written by Tim Seeley with art by Reilly Brown, this new series is actually a continuation of the currently running He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: The Sword of Flaws miniseries, which was originally announced to be concluding in February with issue #4. However, like Prince Adam of Eternia himself, the series has been upgraded to beefy, muscle-bound ongoing status instead, and will continue with the newly numbered issue #5.
In the series, Skeletor has the Sword of Flaws, sort of spoiling the end of the first four issues, and it’s up to He-Man to stop him before — you guessed it again — he becomes the master of the universe. He-Man and the Masters of the Universe #5 hits stores on March 25, 2026.
Oni Press Announces Free Comic Book Day Title:
Hot on the heels of the news that Free Comic Book Day will be happening next year, Oni is first out of the gate announcing their contribution: a double hit of Matt Kindt, with Mind MGMT / Fort Psycho FCBD 2026 Special.
While Kindt’s Flux House imprint won’t officially launch until later in 2026, the two brand-new stories will feature Kindt’s return to the world of psychic spies in Mind MGMT, and a prequel to the insane action coming in Fort Psycho, sort of a G.I. Joe on cocaine. So I guess: G.I. Joe.
You can check out the book at participating stores on May 2, 2026.
Darth Maul Returns In New Comic Book Series:
After the events of Star Wars: The Clone Wars the animated series is a brand new animated series titled Star Wars – Maul Shadow Lord. But before that is a new Marvel Comics series written by Benjamin Percy with art by Madibek Musabekov: Star Wars: Shadow Of Maul.
The new animated series will find Maul looking to rebuild his crime empire on the planet Janix — and the comic book series introduces his supporting cast: Captain Brander Lawson, and a droid named Two Boots in honor of the New Orleans style pizza chain based in New York. Just kidding. Maybe.
Star Wars: Shadow of Maul #1 will hit stores on March 4, 2026.
