The first teaser trailer for Supergirl is finally here. Starring House of the Dragon star Milly Alcock as Supergirl, aka Kara Zor-El, this ain’t your daddy’s Man of Steel. Nope, this Supergirl is drunk, depressed, and headed to space.

Based on the excellent DC Comics series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, written by Tom King with art by Bilquis Evely, as glimpsed in this past summer’s Superman, this version of Supergirl is usually a little — or a lot — wasted. When she’s first seen in the book she’s hanging out on a planet with a red sun expressly so her powers are gone and she can get drunk.

As in the book, the movie finds Supergirl dealing with a vicious villain named Krem of the Yellow Hills (Matthias Schoenaerts) who has a few things that make chasing him across the cosmos very personal for the Maid of Might. Alongside Supergirl is a young alien named Ruthye (Eve Ridley), who also has a bone to pick with Krem. David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham also appear as Kara’s parents, Zor-El and Alura, and the movie even finds time for one character not in the comic: Jason Momoa as Lobo, the Main Man.

The movie is directed by Craig Gillespie from a script by DC Studios darling Ana Nogueira.

Here’s the official synopsis:

When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice.

Supergirl hits theaters internationally on June 24, 2026, followed in North America on June 26, 2026. Check out the trailer below.
