The first teaser trailer for Supergirl is nearly here — less than 12 hours away, in fact, as of this writing. And in advance of the release we’ve not only gotten a teaser for the teaser, and yet another teaser, but also a teaser poster. Consider yourself teased! Maximum teasing!
Starring House of the Dragon star Milly Alcock as Supergirl, aka Kara Zor-El, the movie is based on the excellent DC Comics series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, written by Tom King with art by Bilquis Evely. As glimpsed in this past summer’s Superman, this version of Supergirl is usually a little — or a lot — wasted, and when she’s first seen in the book she’s hanging out on a planet with a red sun expressly so her powers are gone and she can get drunk.
That’s definitely reflected in the tagline on the poster: “Truth. Justice. Whatever.” And along with big sunglasses and a trenchcoat, Supergirl is giving serious “over it” vibes. We’ll see how over it she stays in the movie, which should find a certain canine member of the Super-family in serious trouble, driving her to action alongside a young alien girl named Ruthye (Eve Ridley). Together, they’ll pursue a villain named Krem of the Yellow Hills (Matthias Schoenaerts) across the cosmos, and even bump into the Main Man himself, Lobo (Jason Momoa)… Who, as a little side-note, does not appear in the comic book. Also yes, he used to be Aquaman. Deal with it.
Also in the movie are David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham as Kara’s parents, Zor-El and Alura. It’s directed by Craig Gillespie from a script by DC Studios fave Ana Nogueira.
Here’s the official synopsis:
When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice.
Supergirl hits theaters internationally on June 24, 2026, followed in North America on June 26, 2026. Check out the poster below:
