DC Universe Infinite Expands To Eight New Countries:
DC Universe Infinite is continuing to pay out on the promise of its name by expanding into eight new countries. It may not be infinite yet, but oh, it’s closer than ever before.
Starting this week, the DC Comics digital comics subscription service is available in Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, and Sweden.
The DCUI platform is English-language, and includes classics like Batman: Hush and All-Star Superman reformatted for vertical, alongside digital exclusives like Nothing Butt Nightwing, and Renaissance of Raven. And new titles are added one month after release, including the best-selling Absolute Universe titles.
As part of the launch, new subscribers in every country listed except Denmark who sign up for the Annual Ultra tier in the first month get a 15% discount, which you can keep for the life of your Annual Ultra subscription. Sorry to Denmark… Yet another reason for Danes to be melancholy.
Dark Horse Adapts Classic Witcher Story That Introduces Yennefer:
Dark Horse Comics is adapting the classic Witcher story that introduces sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg.
Titled Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher: The Last Wish, the book is presented as a hardcover, and finds Dandelion — better known as Jaskier to fans of the Netflix series — breaking a magic seal and unleashing a djinn. So Geralt, aka the witcher, recruits Yennefer to help. Per a release from Dark Horse, “Despite her beauty, grace, and zeal, can she be trusted? With the djinn set loose, Geralt is at the mercy of magic. And as a struggle for power and control begins, wishes are made, but whose are being granted?”
The book is 72 pages long, costs $19.99, and hits comic shops on August 12, 2026.
X-Men Messiah Trilogy To get Collected:
The X-Men Messiah Trilogy is getting collected in one omnibus.
Per ICv2, the 1,112 page collection will include the three part storyline that ran in multiple X-Men titles including, naturally, X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, New X-Men, X-Factor, X-Force and more. Written by, among others, Ed Brubaker and Matt Fraction, the three part storyline includes Messiah Complex, Messiah War, and Second Coming, which detail the birth of Hope Summers, Bishop pursuing her and Cable through the future, and the end of the story when Hope and Cable return to the present.
However, the omnibus only includes Cable #11-#15, which is a bit of a shame, as the full, excellent run by Duane Swierczynski is arguably the best part of the whole storyline. It’s also a very difficult run to read in trade, as previous collections have jumped all over the place, thanks to the crossovers collected in the aforementioned omnibus interrupting and weaving into the storyline of the Cable title.
Regardless, if you want to pick up the omnibus, it’ll hit stores on June 23, 2026.
For Comic Book Club News, I’m Alex Zalben. And a fun little joke I like to tell myself is “Yennefer of Vengabus.”
