DC Universe Infinite is continuing to pay out on the promise of its name by expanding into eight new countries. It may not be infinite yet, but oh, it’s closer than ever before.
Starting today, the DC Comics digital comics subscription service is available in Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, and Sweden. That’s great news for any Swedes who were wondering if there’s a comic they can read titled Nothing Butt Nightwing because guess what, there is. And it might be titled Ingenting annat än Nightwing, but I don’t speak Swedish, so who knows.
“Expanding DC UNIVERSE INFINITE and DC GO! to fans worldwide has been a top priority as we continue to connect with our global audience with access to DC’s iconic Super Hero content. Providing a subscription platform offering our vast library of comics gives fans around the world a unique opportunity to access their favorite stories at their fingertips, anytime, anywhere,” said DC senior vice president and general manager Anne DePies via a press release provided to Comic Book Club.
Why did I choose Swedish? Because sometimes you choose a bit, and then you have to stick with it, I’m sorry, those are the rules.
Perhaps of note to this not particularly funny bit I’m doing, the DCUI platform is English-language, and includes classics like Batman: Hush and All-Star Superman reformatted for vertical, alongside digital exclusives like the aforementioned Nightwing title, and Renaissance of Raven. And new titles are added one month after release, including the best-selling Absolute Universe titles.
As part of the launch, new subscribers in every country listed except Denmark who sign up for the Annual Ultra tier in the first get a 15% discount, which you can keep for the life of your Annual Ultra subscription. Sorry to Denmark, yet another reason for Danes to be melancholy.
