Top 11 Image Comics For December 2025

lost fantasy #6 cover crop

December 2025 is an interesting month for Image Comics. this year the publisher has felt a bit like a firehose, releasing comics at a constant, non-stop rate. That’s not a bad thing, because there were a lot of fantastic books coming out. But it was also a lot.

Don’t worry, things are calming down quite a bit in the final month of the year. There are still plenty of titles from — for example — Skybound’s Energon Universe, including Transformers and two issues of G.I. Joe. And Todd McFarlane’s Spawn Universe is pretty busy as well. But as for the rest? There’s still plenty of great stuff, but perhaps it’ll be a little easier on your wallet.

…Or maybe not, as in the final week of the year, Image is releasing a Stocking Stuffer Blind Bag that costs $20 and comes with a rare variant. Hey, good thing you can “save” the rest of the month.

Anyway, with all that in mind, let’s count down 11 Image Comics titles being released in December 2025 that you can get hyped for, presented in chronological release order. And if you want to check out the Best Marvel Comics of December 2025, Best DC Comics of December 2025, or Best Comics from Other Publishers for December 2025, we’ve got that, too.

1. Giant Size Criminal #1

Giant Size Criminal #1 cover

Release Date: December 3, 2025

This is not about an enormous robber, unfortunately, but rather an oversized issue of Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips’ lauded comic book series. Coming hot on the heels of a new graphic novel The Knives released this year, and supposedly in advance of the Prime Video series that has yet to be announced, this one-shot includes a new story from Brubaker and Phillips, an RPG module from Kieron Gillen, and behind-the-scenes on the TV series.

2. Inferno Girl Red: Book Two #1

Inferno Girl Red Book Two #1 cover

Release Date: December 3, 2025

The Massiveverse title from Mat Groom and Erica D’Urso returns for a second volume, and if you haven’t checked it out before: it’s a lot of fun. The legacy hero of the title found herself and her entire school + city transported to another part of the galaxy. Now she needs to survive and fight villains, all at the same time.

3. Dread The Halls 2025 #1

Dread The Halls cover A

Release Date: December 3, 2025

These anthologies from Syzygy are always a blast, and I’d expect this one to be no different. Basically a series of short horror/spooky/weird tales, all set around the holidays, from a bunch of great creators. You get the gist!

4. Assorted Crisis Events #7

Assorted Crisis Events #7 crop

Release Date: December 10, 2025

Deniz Camp and Eric Zawadzki are steadily crafting the most devastating monthly comic around with Assorted Crisis Events. The previous issue confronted dementia, this one seems to take on death straight on. All I know is that I’ll likely be disturbed and unsettled by the end of the read.

5. Exquisite Corpses #8

Exquisite Corpses #8 cover

Release Date: December 17, 2025

Is Exquisite Corpses the biggest new release of the past few years? Possibly, as it seems to only be growing in sales and interest as it goes. Regardless, as the bodies continue to pile up in this deadly game, this issue — which features Pornsak Pitcheshote and Adam Gorham, alongside regulars James Tynion IV and Michael Walsh — should be yet another must read.

6. The Power Fantasy #14

The Power Fantasy #14 cover

Release Date: December 17, 2025

This book by Kieron Gillen and Caspar Wijingaard has been consistently great, but the past few issues have hit an “all bets are off” stage that has catapulted it to another level entirely. What will happen next? Who knows, but the pieces are starting to fall in this superpowered chess match, and it’s thrilling to watch.

7. DIE: Loaded #2

DIE: Loaded #2 cover

Release Date: December 17, 2025

Big day for Kieron Gillen, as a new issue of the DIE sequel series hits on December 17 as well. The first series about a deadly role playing game got super-complex by the end; but the first issue of this sequel was surprisingly new reader friendly. Hop on board now.

8. Wrestle Heist #1

Wrestle Heist #1 cover

Release Date: December 17, 2025

While I’ll always read anything from Kyle Starks, it’s exciting to see him also penciling this new series, alongside colors from Vladimir Popov. And the concept is a predictably fun one: per the title, a wrestler screwed over by a corrupt promoter assembles a crew of similarly screwed wrestlers to rob him blind.

9. Void Rivals #25

Void Rivals #25 cover

Release Date: December 24, 2025

While I left off other must read Energon Universe titles from this list (Transformers and G.I. Joe have both been on a roll lately), if you’re only going to get one, make it Void Rivals #25, which kicks off the Quintesson War six-part event. If nothing else, you’ll get more ridiculous fun with Skuxxoid, which makes it worth the cover price alone.

10. Sleep #7

Sleep #7 cover

Release Date: December 24, 2025

If you haven’t been reading this must-read title, well, do not start with the second to last issue. But the story of a man who turns into… Something… Every time he goes to sleep has been a complex and nail-biting exploration of faith in a time of monsters. Go back, read it all, and never sleep again.

11. Lost Fantasy #6

Lost Fantasy #6 cover

Release Date: December 31, 2025

This title from Curt Pires and Luca Casalanguida has steadily been gaining buzz over the past few months for its Final Fantasy meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer mash-up. It’s bold, beautifully drawn, incredibly weird, and features at least one wild action sequence per issue. Do not miss it.
