December is a pretty light month for DC Comics in terms of number of releases, but luckily they’ve packed their list with some heavy hitters… Literally. Specifically, in addition to a slew of gangbusters releases from the Absolute Universe, it’s also All Fight Month, baby!
What does that mean? It means that there’s no regular issue of DC K.O., but we do get a much of heavyweight match-ups running both in one-shots and in regular titles. The brass at DC promise these have all the visceral thrills of “who would win in a fight” while also aiming to make emotional sense for the characters at the same time.
And even beyond that, there are — get this — other titles to enjoy (though of note, DC has abdicated December 31, 2025, with no new releases). So with that in mind, let’s count down our most anticipated releases from DC Comics this December, presented in chronological release order. 1. DC K.O.: Superman vs. Captain Atom #1
Release Date: December 3, 2025
We won’t highlight every match-up on this list, but to get a sense if these are for you, why not check out the first out of the gate? Two heavy-hitters take it to the mat, and while I have a hunch who this will go for, it’ll be fun to read and find out.
2. Birds of Prey #28
Release Date: December 3, 2025
A resounding “boooo” to DC cancelling one of its best titles, but at least according to writer Kelly Thompson, she’s getting to finish it on her own terms. And even if the inside of the book is no good (though every issue drawn by Sami Basri is utterly gorgeous), peep that delightful cover, which needs to be framed in a museum.
3. Absolute Batman #15
Release Date: December 10, 2025
If Absolute Bane is a massive flesh blorbo then why wouldn’t Absolute Joker by a Venom-looking dragon man? Why not? Why not, indeed? This issue brings on the Joker’s horrifying new form, alongside guest artist Jock — so you know it’s gonna haunt your nightmares.
4. Wonder Woman #28
Release Date: December 17, 2025
Tom King and Daniel Sampere’s excellent Mouse Man arc ends this issue as Diana looks to burn the fascist island the villain has made his home to the ground. Mouse Man knows? Mice have ears.
5. Superman: The Kryptonite Spectrum #5
Release Date: December 17, 2025
The predictably excellent Black Label series from W. Maxwell Prince and Martín Morazzo wraps up here as Superman wrestles with the new versions of Kryptonite he’s discovered.
6. Absolute Wonder Woman #15
Release Date: December 24, 2025
After over a year of anticipation, we finally have our first (heroic) Absolute Universe crossover as Wonder Woman heads to Gotham and meets up with Batman. Who will be larger? We’ll find out together, this December.
7. Absolute Martian Manhunter #7
Release Date: December 24, 2025
Speaking of anticipation, Absolute Martian Manhunter returns after a break. And if you haven’t been reading the stunningly original series by Deniz Camp and Javier Rodríguez, what have you been doing with your life?
8. Green Arrow #31
Release Date: December 24, 2025
Another excellent book that’s ending, Green Arrow #31 brings Chris Condon and Montos’ run to a close with a beautifully written and drawn mission statement issue for Oliver Queen that will work for readers who have stuck with the run, or lookie-loos interested in seeing how the title wraps up.
9. Trinity: Daughter Of Wonder Woman #6
Release Date: December 24, 2025
The final issue of this adorable series by Tom King and Belén Ortega finds the three Trinitys wrapping up their mission to capture time-lost corgis. Honestly bummed this is wrapping up because we need more all-ages, emotionally felt, funny comics like this one.
10. Harley and Ivy: Life and Crimes #2
Release Date: December 24, 2025
The first issue of this series from Erica Henderson telling the definitive origin of Harley and Ivy’s love story was everything you (meaning: me) wanted it to be. Expect issue two to be more of the same!
11. DC K.O.: The Joker vs. Red Hood #1
Release Date: December 24, 2025
Let’s end All Fight Month with one more highly anticipated match-up: Joker versus Red Hood. How many crowbar references will there be? The limit does not exist.
