This is Comic Book Club News for November 26, 2025.
Dani Moonstar Gets Solo Series:
It’s official: after the surprise reveal earlier this month of a Dani Moonstar… Something… We finally know what it is: a five issue limited series launching in March from Marvel, titled — what else — Moonstar.
Written by Ashley Allen, who previously tackled the character in Magik, and drawn by Edoardo Audino, this is the first time the former New Mutant has headlined her own series.
Here’s the synopsis, via PR from Marvel: “When an ancient, soul-sucking weapon is set loose, it’s up to Dani to track it down! But the weapon’s deadly wielder won’t make it easy for her. After recent tragedies, can Dani trust herself to save those closest to her? Or will her self-doubts lead to even more bloodshed?”
Moonstar #1 hits stores on March 4, 2026.
Optimus Prime Meets Duke In Upcoming G.I. Joe Issues:
The moment Energon Universe fans have been waiting for will finally happen, as Transformers and G.I. Joe will collide — and Optimus Prime will meet Duke — in G.I. Joe #19 and #20.
Written by Joshua Williamson with art by Andrea Milana, after the end of the currently running Dreadnok War storyline it’s finally time for the Autobots and the Joes to meet face to face.
Here’s the official synopsis for the sort-of crossover, via Skybound:
Duke and Optimus Prime meeting for the first time in the Energon Universe? What’s led to this momentous meeting of the EU’s two greatest heroes? All we can say is it involves Clutch, Autobot Hound, and America’s most wanted man – Matt Trakker!
G.I. Joe #19 hits stores on February 18, 2026, with G.I. Joe #20 on March 18, 2026.
Eve L. Ewing Takes On X-Men United For Marvel:
As previously teased, Exceptional X-Men writer Eve L. Ewing isn’t quite done with Marvel’s merry mutants yet. And in fact, she’ll be taking on a brand new title with a wild new concept: X-Men United.
In the new series featuring art by Tiago Palma, Ewing will introduce “Graymatter Lane,” a school founded by Emma Frost, and featuring faculty including Wolverine, Magneto, Beast, Rogue and Storm and more. And it’s also, per PR from Marvel, “the central hub for mutant interaction across the world and beyond! This venture represents a bold undertaking that requires all hands on deck, but not all of the X-Men are ready to embrace the idea of another mutant institute for higher learning!”
In case it isn’t clear, Graymatter Lane is a psychic space where the X-Men characters all join together… And it sounds like Cyclops in particular is not a fan.
X-Men United #1 hits stores on March 11, 2026.
For Comic Book Club News, I’m Alex Zalben. And that Energon Universe thing really put a damper on my romantasy pitch about Optimus Prime falling in love with a charming Duke. Back to the drawing board!
