Mike Mignola and Jesse Lonergan’s new Dark Horse series, Miss Truesdale and the Rise of Man, won’t start hitting stores until December 10. But we’ve got the exclusive reveal here of the hardcover edition, which will collect the full series next year.
A sequel to Miss Truesdale and the Fall of Hyperborea, the series follows the titular character, a Victorian secretary thrust into her past life as gladiator Anum Yassa. Set in the world of Hellboy, the series follows Truesdale/Yassa as she explores more of her world. And in the sequel, things get even more dire as she needs to stop a powerful evil force from changing the destiny of humankind. Basically think “what if Moneypenny became Red Sonja,” and you have the basic idea.
The collection will include all four issues of the upcoming series, as well as bonus material and a new cover by Lonergan. It’ll hit stores on August 18, 2026, and you can check out the synopsis and exclusive cover reveal for the hardcover edition, below.
