Brian Michael Bendis Returns To Marvel:
It’s official: Brian Michael Bendis is back at Marvel… At least for a new story in Avengers #800.
First teased last month, Bendis will write a 14-page backup story in the issue with art by Mark Bagley, who previously worked with Bendis on Ultimate Spider-Man and Avengers Assemble.
In the story, it’s the anniversary of the founding of the Avengers, and Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America come together to take down a Hydra weapon, while teaming up with Avengers past and present.
Sounds nice, but it’s just the start. Said Bendis via press release, “Thanks to everyone at Marvel for having me back for such an auspicious occasion. This is the first of some truly special Marvel projects that I will be part of in the near future. Stay tuned…”
Recently, Captain America #6 pivoted from a new team of United Captains to the reintroduction of S.H.I.E.L.D. Could a Bendis written S.H.I.E.L.D. title be far behind? And with the Ultimate Universe ending next year, wouldn’t it be interesting to have Bendis and Bagley on a new iteration of Ultimate Spider-Man?
Avengers #34 aka Avengers #800 hits stores on January 3, 2025.
Inferno Girl Red Is Back At Image:
Massive-verse title Inferno Girl Red is finally returning to Image Comics for a second volume, joining fellow ongoing titles Radiant Black and Rogue Sun.
Written by Mat Groom with art by Erica D’urso, the book focuses on Cássia, also known as the legacy hero of the title. The place she lives, Apex City, was taken to somewhere across space, and now she’s forced to fight for its survival.
In Volume 2, a threat called the Twins emerges, and promises to change everything. Inferno Girl Red Book Two #1 hits stores on December 3.
Crunchyroll Adds Titan Comics Titles:
The Crunchyroll Manga app continues to expand. Launched last month around New York Comic Con, the manga app has partnered with Titan Books to add 26 new titles.
Per a press release from the publisher, those titles include several also available to stream as anime on Crunchyroll, including Burst Angel, Somali and the Forest Spirit, Speed Grapher, and Working for God in a Godless World. Other highlights include ATOM: The Beginning, Kamen Rider Kuuga, and Corpse Blade.
Titan Books joins other publishers like AlphaPolis, COMPASS, Square Enix, VIZ Media, and Yen Press on the app, which has lengthy runs of everything from One Piece to Jujutsu Kaisen. I myself have been enjoying reading Spy x Family and Delicious in Dungeon on the app, but you do you
