Swamp Thing Is Killing The Children?

Joshua Williamson writing Iron Man.

Gotham City Sirens gets Black Label series.

This is Comic Book Club News for October 15, 2025.

Swamp Thing Is Killing The Children Crossover Coming:

James Tynion IV is getting back to his DC roots, literally. With next year’s release of Something is Killing the Children #50, his BOOM! Studios book, the festivities will spill over into a crossover with DC’s Black Label line, titled — what else — Swamp Thing is Killing the Children.

A co-publication between DC Black Label and BOOM! Studios this was announced at the BOOM! Studios panel at New York Comic Con. While there’s no release date, Tynion did explain that, “My love for DC Comics comes from DC horror.”

Later, at a Tiny Onion panel (Tynion’s imprint), the writer explained that, “DC does want me to confirm that the real Swamp Thing that you love doesn’t actually kill children. There were some people nervous about the title.”

Werther Dell’Edera will provide art for the book, as usual for SIKTC — and of note, Dell’Edera is also working on the DC Elseworlds book Green Lantern Dark.

It’s also a big year for Swamp Thing, as DC will finally publish Rick Veitch’s “lost” Swamp Thing 1989, aka the story where Swamp Thing meets Jesus.

So what will happen in the book? Will Erica Slaughter kill Swamp Thing? Will Erica also meet Jesus? We’ll find out more in 2026.

Joshua Williamson Writing Iron Man:

Joshua Williamson is already writing Superman for DC Comics and G.I. Joe for Skybound/Image Comics. And now he’s making it a hat trick by snagging the job writing Iron Man for Marvel, as announced at New York Comic Con.

The news was announced on the Next Big Thing panel, alongside the reveal that Carmen Carnero will be the artist on the book.

Said Williamson, “I am a huge Iron Man fan. A massive Iron Man fan…and I knew it was time. I absolutely had to do this. Part of our tagline for this book is that Tony Stark is the most dangerous weapon in the Marvel Universe. When he went into the cave, Tony built the armor…but after I thought about it more, the armor wasn’t what he built in the cave. Tony built Tony.”

In the new series, Iron Man comes face to face with Madame Masque and AIM, who are looking to create their own Tony Stark. Not Iron Man. Tony. Does someone need to explain to Madame Masque how babies are made? Maybe!

Iron Man #1 hits stores on January 28, 2026.

Gotham City Sirens Are Getting A Black Label Series:

The Gotham City Sirens are getting a Black Label series. Titled Sirens: Love Hurts, the four issue series will be written by Tini Howard, with art by Babs Tarr, and feature Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, Catwoman and Black Canary.

The action kicks off when Black Canary and Green Arrow get engaged, and each issue will follow a different season leading up to the wedding — with Howard teasing at DC’s Gotham City New York Comic Con panel that the book is, “Long Halloween for the girlies.”

Tarr also teased that because the team loves cosplayers, they’ll be giving the characters new costumes every issue. In addition, there will be plenty of romance beyond the wedding, with Catwoman being torn between two guys, and Harley Quinn just out of a breakup and wanting to go out and have fun, while Ivy wants to stay home and watch TV. They start clashing, but teases Howard, “Sometimes the person you’ve been looking for… Wears weird spandex with you.”

Sirens: Love Hurts will be out in February of 2026.

For Comic Book Club News, I’m Alex Zalben. And they should keep going with this bit and do Hush for the girlies, too.
