Oni Press To Publish Claus Daniel Herrmann’s ‘Pink Monsters’ [EXCLUSIVE]

Oni Press is making big moves lately. And joining their exciting slate of comics and graphic novels, Comic Book Club can exclusively reveal, is Pink Monsters, a story by German creator Claus Daniel Hermann, making his US debut.

In the book, we meet Frank, a 14-year-old in the middle of puberty who is slowly realizing he’s gay. Everyone like Frank because he draws cool monsters… But at the same time, juxtaposed with this is his father, who is suffering from serious depression. In order to tackle that, Frank’s mom engages a healer… Who blames Frank’s drawings for his father’s depression.

“Access to one’s own feelings and the ability to think critically are key to self-determination—especially in a world where fellow human beings advocate for unverifiable beliefs and use them to recklessly tear down personal boundaries. I hope my readers, whether they are young adults themselves or already responsible for younger ones, will find an impressive example of this in my story,” said Herrmann via a press release provided to Comic Book Club
