Here’s a scary comic you’re really going to like-an: The Lycan, from Comixology, with a story by Thomas Jane and David James Kelly, written by Mike Carey with art by Diego Yapur. And if you’re curious about the werewolf tale, good news: we’ve got an exclusive preview of The Lycan #5, which hits the digital comics service on October 14, 2025.
In the series, a group of big game hunters have gotten shipwrecked on a small British island. That’s bad enough, but as it turns out this isn’t a regular island, it’s a cool island… Because the locals are being plagued by “Berserking Beasts” — which you likely know better as werewolves. Those Beasts have been eating the residents, including Nuns. So in exchange for repairing the hunters’ boat, they agree to chase down the beasties.
It doesn’t go well, and things get bloody and gross as they go. And in issue #5, per PR, “Coffin and Rosamund finally understand their childhood connection, but there is no time for reminiscing – the Beasts are closing in, closer than they could ever have believed…”
Check out the preview below, and click the pages for larger versions. We’ve also got a rundown of the team’s appearances this week at New York Comic Con, in case you want to complain to them in person about being TOO SCARED. The Lycan #5 hits Comixology on October 14.
