DC K.O. bracket comes with prizes.
Zdarsky Comic News to end.
This is Comic Book Club News for October 2, 2025.
Fantastic Four Introduces Invincible Woman:
Malice isn’t back! If that’s confusing to hear, well, strap in there because The Invisible Woman’s dark, bondage-friendly alter ego isn’t returning… But The Invincible Woman, who looks a lot like Malice but is not Malice is about to pop up in the pages of Fantastic Four.
Written by Ryan North with art by Humberto Ramos, the new character will appear first in Fantastic Four #6, then continue in the next two issues. And the difference is that Malice — an alternate persona introduced back during John Byrne’s classic run on FF — is Sue Storm; Invincible Woman is not. So who is she? Per PR, “Driven mad by her power and tormented by a tragic mistake that cost her everything, INVINCIBLE WOMAN resembles Malice, Sue’s dark persona that was first unleashed by Psycho Man during John Byrne’s legendary run on the title.”
Yes, I basically just said that, press release. Anyway, the Malice costume was introduced in Marvel Rivals recently and soared in popularity because gamers are all perverts. And great news, Fantastic Four #6 will include a code for a “Malice Will Rule” in-game spray.
Fantastic Four #6, which also teases the return of the Future Foundation, hits stores on December 3.
DC Comics Offering Prizes For DC K.O. Bracket:
DC K.O. is coming at you faster than a punch to the face. The five-issue event series from DC Comics will pit 32 heroes and villains against each other to determine who will become King Omega, aka the being powerful enough to take down Darkseid. And while the comic by Scott Snyder and Javi Fernández will roll out from October 9, 2025, through March of 2026, you can get in on the action right now.
That’s because not only has DC posted the full, initial bracket for the event, they’re inviting you — yes, you — to pick your own champions for each matchup, all the way through the final round. Sounds fun, right? But wait, there’s more! After you lock in your picks, you can provide your email on DC’s official K.O. page, then track the action on the public leaderboard to see how well you do versus other DC fans.
BUT WAIT. THERE IS EVEN MORE. Per a press release from DC, “Fans who enter in rounds 2, 3, 4, or 5 are eligible for exciting prizes, including an original sketch, signed variant covers, digital DC Collectible Comics and a free year of DC UNIVERSE INFINITE!”
And then there’s one Grand Prize: you become King Omega and have to fight Darkseid for the fate of the universe. Just kidding. Sort of. Because the actual prize is the opportunity to be drawn into a future DC comic book. So maybe you will fight Darkseid? I dunknow.
If you want to argue with fellow fans a little early, Comic Book Club will be picking our bracket live, this Saturday, October 4, at 9 am ET on YouTube, and we would love to fight you. I mean, hear about your picks.
Zdarsky Comic News To End:
Folks: we won. In the heated battle between Comic Book Club News, and Zdarsky Comic News, the monthly magazine created by writer Chip Zdarsky, we have prevailed, as Zdarsky announced he is wrapping it up with issue #18.
Zdarsky revealed the news via his newsletter, saying, “That’s right! Now that my dumb little magazine is old enough to vote (if issue numbers were years), I’m wrapping up ZDARSKY COMIC NEWS. It wasn’t an easy decision as I truly love making it, but boy oh boy there are only so many hours in the day and for some reason my editors don’t take ‘but I’m making my free magazine this week’ as an excuse for missing deadlines??”
Obviously, as usual, Zdarsky is being cheeky. But it was surprising that the busy scribe kept the excellent zine going for so long. Plus, our victory may be short-lived, as we hear there might be something else waiting in the wings to take the place of Zdarsky Comic News. As is, the final issue will hit stores this December, featuring an interview with Charles Soule.
For Comic Book Club News, I’m Alex Zalben. You might say we DC K.O.’d Zdarsky Comic News with extreme Malice. There we go, brought it all together seamlessly.
