If you like the X-Men, you know that dystopian futures are their bread and butter. Age of Revelation is the newest of the bunch, a franchise event that’ll last from October until the end of December. It’ll have more than 50 issues in the event by the time it wraps up… But don’t worry. With our reading order, you’ll know everything you need about the event and which series is best for you.
Ten years in the future, Revelation, the heir of Apocalypse, has created a utopia for mutants, ruled by the philosophy of the survival of the fittest. However, every utopia has its dark side. And from it, a group of X-Men rises as a resistance.
Age of Revelation Prologue
The Age of Revelation story has been brewing for a while now. So, here’s some background reading if you want to understand more about Revelation and their plans.

Apocalypse’s heir makes his return, and it’s time to start his design of a great new world. This is an effective introduction to the lore involving him, Krakoa, and Apocalypse.
X-Men: Age of Revelation #0

This is our first taste of Age of Revelation. It presents more about the world he has built, the rebels fighting against it, and the tie-in series taking part in the event.
X-Men #22

X-Men #22 is a masterpiece in dialogue by MacKay. He shows how much he understands these characters and some of the seeds he has been planting since the start. Some of them are very important for what comes next.
