Superman and Spider-Man to cross over?
Marvelocity comes to New York Comic Con.
How many copies has Something is Killing the Children sold?
This is Comic Book Club News for September 30, 2025.
Rob Liefeld Teases Superman And Spider-Man Crossover:
With the release of Marvel’s Deadpool/Batman and DC’s upcoming Batman/Deadpool, Marvel and DC fans noticed two significant absences: Superman and Spider-Man. Well, according to the internet’s most reliable source, Rob Liefeld, that crossover is coming next year.
Wrote Liefeld on X, formerly Twitter, via Bleeding Cool, “Deadpool/Batman does a pretty great job of whetting the appetite for the 50th anniversary of Superman/Spider-Man, which I’m pretty certain is going to be announced any day for release in 2026. I think Pepe Laraz is drawing it, or at least one of em. We will see.”
That’s far from definite confirmation of, well, anything. But also, the dual publishers have teased that there’s more crossover madness to come next year. And not only is it the 50th anniversary of the classic Superman vs. Spider-Man issue, but it’s also the 30th anniversary of the Amalgam crossover that mashed the two universes together. With New York Comic Con next week, are there some big announcements waiting in the wings? Stay tuned.
Alex Ross Brings Marvelocity To New York Comic Con:
Speaking of New York Comic Con, artist Alex Ross will be bringing an exhibition of over 100 original pieces of artwork featured in Marvelocity: The Marvel Art of Alex Ross to his booth this year.
Originally published by Pantheon Books, per a press release provided to Comic Book Club, the Alex Ross Art booth will “transport attendees to a museum-like atmosphere right on the Javits show floor.”
The exhibit has been touring around the country for years, but this is the first time it’ll be shown off at New York Comic Con. And just like in a real museum, where you can just take the Mona Lisa off the walls, some of the pieces will be for sale. Specifically, art including Captain America, Doctor Strange, and Spider-Man, which will be available for $195 each.
You can check it out at booth #3225. Or if you’re not making it to New York, there’s even more Alex Ross art on display at the Heroes & Villains exhibit at the Dunn Museum right outside of Chicago.
How Many Copies Has Something Is Killing The Children Sold?
Somewhat buried in the announcement that BOOM! Studios is making a deal with WEBTOON that we reported on yesterday here on the podcast: Something is Killing the Children by James Tynion IV and Werther Dell’Edera has sold over five million copies to date.
This isn’t necessarily the newsie bit. Back in June of 2024, BOOM! low-key mentioned the title had sold over 4.5 million copies, stuck at the bottom of an announcement about the at the time upcoming Archive Editions. And in an October 31, 2024 profile of Tynion in The Hollywood Reporter, they noted it had sold over 5 million copies.
You can probably do the math here, but that’s half a million copies of the book in about five months. We’re almost a year on, so one would expect the number to have grown even higher. So how many copies have been sold?
We reached out to BOOM! Studios for clarification, as well as whether this number includes single issues and collections, but did not hear back as of recording time.
