Marvel reveals new Silver Surfer.
Tom Taylor’s Titans gets omnibus.
This is Comic Book Club News for September 29, 2025.
WEBTOON Teams Up With BOOM! Studios:
WEBTOON is collecting comic book companies like Infinity Stones. Alongside syndicating titles from IDW, Dark Horse, and Marvel Comics, the online vertical scroll giant will now also syndicate stories from BOOM! Studios.
The initial launch slate of reformatted titles from the publisher will include Something is Killing the Children, Wynd, Fence, and Lumberjanes — all of which, to editorialize a bit, will likely translate perfectly to the WEBTOON platform, given their respective subject matter.
While no launch date was announced, you can get a preview of what to expect at New York Comic Con at the panel Legends Reborn: Iconic Comics, New Adventures on WEBTOON, where BOOM and WEBTOON will talk through the reformatting process.
Marvel Reveals New Silver Surfer, Kelly Koh:
In the latest issue of Marvel’s Death of Silver Surfer, the Silver Surfer stepped off his motorcycle, took off his helmet, shook down his golden hair, and everyone was like “WHOA! SILVER SURFER’S NOT A DUDE, HE’S A LADY, DUDE!” While none of that is true, there is a new Silver Surfer, she is a lady, and her name is Kelly Koh.
In Death of Silver Surfer #4, by Pak, Sumit Kumar, and Tiago Palma, we did see Norrin Radd gift the Power Cosmic to the extremely xenophobic Kelly Koh. She’ll full on take the mantle, teaming up with Radd against a Galactus-powered threat in Death of Silver Surfer #5.
Said Pak, “The Silver Surfer has always been famously one of Marvel’s most emotionally tormented characters, and Kelly with the Power Cosmic absolutely follows in that tradition, ha ha! But she’s also got a no-nonsense, cocky, dangerous edge that makes her much less predictable than Norrin and a huge challenge to the villains—and heroes!—of the Marvel Universe.”
Death of Silver Surfer #5 hits stores on October 29.
Tom Taylor’s Titans Gets Omnibus:
Writer Tom Taylor’s run on Titans is the latest DC title to get the omnibus treatment.
Per ICv2, the 760-page collection will include Titans #1-#15, as well as five issues of Nightwing, and all six issues of Titans: Beast Wars. Art is by Nicola Scott, as well as Lucas Meyer, Sam Basri, and others, and will feature a cover by Bruno Redondo.
If you’re not familiar, this is a relatively recent run that started in 2023 and ran through 2024, finding the Justice League disbanded and the Titans stepping in as the world’s premier superhero team.
Titans by Tom Taylor Omnibus will cost $125 and hit stores on February 10. 2026.
For Comic Book Club News, I’m Alex Zalben. And I guess when you think about it, Silver Surfer would probably step off a surfboard and not a motorcycle, but unfortunately, there’s no way to go back and edit podcasts.
