Crunchyroll Manga App Announces Launch Date:
Back in 2013, Crunchyroll launched Crunchyroll Manga, an anthology with 12 titles released in English after they were released in Japan. That shut down in 2023, but now, somehow, Crunchyroll Manga has returned. This October, the brand new service with a similar-sounding name will launch on iOS and Android in the U.S. and Canada on October 9, 2025, followed by a web version on October 15, 2025.
That’s all well and good, but what does it actually mean? The new app will include an ad-free experience featuring titles from Square Enix, VIZ Media, Yen Press, and more. That includes some top-tier titles including One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, The Summer Hikaru Died, Delicious in Dungeon, and more there, as well.
To answer a few pressing questions, if you already enjoy the anime library on Crunchyroll, this is a separate app. However, if you’re a Crunchyroll Fan, Mega Fan, or Ultimate Fan subscriber, this new app will be included. You’ll also be able to read across platforms, download chapters for offline reading, view 2-page spreads, and build a personalized reading list.
Want to know more? Hot on the heels of the launch, there will be hands-on demos of the Crunchyroll Manga app at New York Comic Con, at the Crunchyroll booth, #1643.
Heartstopper Volume 6 Has A Release Date:
First introduced in 2019, the final chapter of Alice Oseman’s Heartstopper will finally hit bookstores this July. Specifically, the long-awaited publication date for Heartstopper Volume 6 will be July 2, 2026, in the UK and Ireland by Hodder Children’s Books, while Scholastic will publish the book in the US and Canada in both hardcover and paperback on July 7, 2026. In addition, Scholastic will also release a box set featuring all six volumes on August 4, 2026.
Said Oseman via press release, “It truly is the end of an era. I have worked on Heartstopper, in one way or another, for the best part of a decade. What started as a fun side project has become something bigger than I could ever possibly have imagined. It has been a dream come true to watch fans across the globe accept Nick, Charlie, and the whole gang into their hearts. I’m blown away to see how this love story has positively impacted, and been embraced by, so many people and I hope we can see that joy continue, even after we close this final chapter. I just can’t wait for everyone to read it in July!”
In the sixth volume, Nick and Charlie are together and going strong. But with Nick getting ready to leave for college, and Charlie focused on trying to become head boy, what might they become without each other?
While this is the end of the road for the moment for the tale of Heartstopper in graphic novel form, there’s still more of the world to come. Netflix’s live-action adaptation will conclude in 2026 with a movie version of the sixth volume and a Nick and Charlie novella, titled Heartstopper Forever.
Abrams Expands Marvel Arts Line:
Abrams ComicArts is expanding its Marvel Arts line with two new projects: a novelization of the lauded comic book series Marvels by Steve Darnall, featuring new illustrations by Alex Ross; and Thor: Behemoth of the Black Moon, a new graphic novel by Eric Powell.
The original Marvels, written by Kurt Busiek with art by Ross, featured a ground-eye view of the Marvel Universe by photojournalist Phil Sheldon, basically looking at the rise of superheroes through a literal man on the street. Meanwhile, Thor: Behemoth of the Black Moon is an original story by Powell, as Thor must “confront the dark legacy of his father, Odin, and face the consequences of a past that refuses to stay buried.”
Said Powell, “Growing up a Marvel kid as I did, getting free rein to tell a story with a premier character like Thor is a dream come true. I didn’t want to waste this opportunity, so I’m doing exactly what I want—a big cosmic adventure with giant Kirby style monsters. Yeah, this book is absolutely my love letter to Jack Kirby and Walt Simons on, and I think their influences will be clear. Did I mention cosmic monsters? Cosmic . . . MONSTERS. The kid in me is giddy.”
Both books are set for release in May of 2026.
