This is Comic Book Club News for September 17, 2025.

Caroline Cash Will Take Over Nancy From Olivia Jaimes:

Caroline Cash is the new ongoing writer and artist on Nancy, the long-running comic strip. She’ll be taking over from Olivia Jaimes, who brought the strip back to prominence and will be ending her eight-year run, with Cash taking over on January 1, 2026.

Per The Beat, Cash, who won an Eisner for her comic Pee Pee Poo Poo, previously did a guest stint on the comic in 2024, when Jaimes went on sabbatical.

Said Cash, “As a lifelong Nancy fan, I’m honored to be given the opportunity to draw my favorite comic strip. This is a real dream come true, and I look forward to sharing what I’ve been working on with everyone. A huge congratulations to Olivia on a truly incredible Nancy run and I hope she enjoys her retirement.”

Jaimes, by the way, is a pseudonym for the still unknown creator who has been stewarding the venerable strip since 2018. She adopted it as the first female creator to tackle Nancy, as there was concern for safety reasons. However, Jaimes’ Nancy almost immediately gained acclaim for modern, relevant takes like the iconic “Sluggo is lit” strip.

Between Jaimes leaving the strip and Cash taking over next year, reruns by Ernie Bushmiller will run in the 100 or so newspapers that currently syndicate Nancy, as well as online at GoComics.

Invincible Omnibus Gets New Printing Featuring Spider-Man Team-Up:

Skybound and Image Comics have announced a new printing of Invincible Omnibus Vol. 1 HC, now with 100% more Spider-Man. That’s because the new volume will collect issues #0-#47 of the series by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, as usual. But for the first time, it will also include Marvel Team-Up #14, which found Invincible teaming up with your friendly neighborhood web-slinger.

First published in 2005, the Marvel Comics issue was written by Kirkman, with art by Walker, and took place during Invincible’s battle with the dimension-hopping Angstrom Levy in the main title. While in Invincible, you didn’t get to see where the title character went, over in Marvel Team-Up, it turned out he popped over to the ol’ 616. Now, you’ll get to read the whole adventure the way it was meant to be experienced.

The release of this omnibus follows up on Marvel Team-Up #14 getting reprinted with the Image Comics logo as part of the Blind Bag program for Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #1. And now you don’t have to buy hundreds of comics and rip open bags to read the story! Great news!

Invincible Omnibus Vol. 1 has a suggested retail price of $125, and will hit comic book shops on April 1, 2026 (no fooling) followed by book stores on April 14, 2026 (also not fooling about that).

Marvel Sets Release Dates For December Facsimile Editions:

Marvel has set the release date for two December Facsimile editions: Fantastic Four #12 and Civil War #5.

Per 13th Dimension, there’s no real surprise about the release of these issues, which are reproductions of the original printings, ads and all… Marvel has been diligently reprinting the original run of Fantastic Four and Civil War for a few months now, issue by issue. However, it will be interesting to see whether additional facsimiles like October’s Amalgam Universe crossover issue Spider-Boy #1 join the program.

As is, 13th Dimension teases a third Facsimile will be announced later this week, and notes that a not-great copy of Fantastic Four #12 is going for $550 on eBay.

The Fantastic Four #12 facsimile will hit on December 10, followed by Civil War #5 on December 17.
