While The Terminator is busy celebrating Christmas, Red Sonja is taking on New Year’s with the appropriately named Red Sonja New Year’s Special from Dynamite.
Written by Dan Panosian with art by Valeria Buzo, the one-shot will find Sonja curiously not trying to figure out the closest bathroom to Times Square, but actually, per PR, “summoned to a remote mountain village. Under the ominous glow of the Red Moon, Sonja finds herself caught tangled in a web of deception, sacrifice, and some murderous foes.”
There she will find a massive snow panther and ice giants. But will she find someone to kiss before the clock strikes midnight? Can Red Sonja have it all???
Panosian has previously tackled Red Sonja for Dynamite, and Red Sonja New Year’s Special will feature covers by Joseph Michael Linsner, Shannon Maer, and cosplayer Ani-Mia. In addition, a fourth cover will be available as part of a mystery blind bag, with 70% of the bags featuring the cover with trade dress, while “others may include black and white lineart or ‘virgin’ variations on the other three revealed covers.”
