Take this one with a grain of salt, but a man who claims to have been a background actor in Peacemaker Season 2, Episode 3 is adding a bit of “credibility” to those Earth X theories. Specifically, that — potential spoilers past this point — the second universe Peacemaker (John Cena) is visiting, aka DC2, is actually a racist version of the DCU.
The actor, who notes that he usually works on the other side of the camera (i.e., on the film crew), took to Reddit to explain he was a background actor in the latest episode, and that Redditors could ask him anything. The scene in question takes place about 21 minutes into the episode, when Peacemaker and the DC2 version of Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland) sit down on a park bench to chat about their relationship after consuming hot dogs with far too much mustard on them. The actor is the one in the pink visor walking with a buddy in the background (seen above).
Though a lot of the questions were about how much you get paid as a background actor, and whether he was breaking an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) by posting on Reddit, naturally, the conversation turned to the all-consuming theory for this second season. While the Reddit user, Wiseau_serious, is of course not privy to the ins and outs of James Gunn’s scripts, he did speculate that, “everyone I remember seeing was at least white-presenting. I think the Nazi/white supremacist dimension theories have credibility.”
If you’re not familiar with this particular theory, it’s what he says above… Peacemaker has been using the Quantum Unfolding Chamber (QUC) to travel to a dimension that seems to be a paradise for him. He’s a beloved superhero, his father and brother are alive, and he has sparks with Harcourt — versus her shutting him down in the main DCU, despite a seemingly ill-advised party boat hook-up.
However, fans have noticed something off since the season premiere, when it was revealed that Peacemaker’s father, Auggie (Robert Patrick), who is a white supremacist in the main DCU, was a leader of the Top Trio superhero team in DC2. Doubling down on that, the most recent episode has nary a person of color on screen (or possibly two or three, blurry in the background). The speculation goes that this is a variation on Earth X, the DC Comics version of the DC Universe where the Axis powers won World War II.
Adding a lot more credence to this is the overall whiteness of the universe, the fact that all the American flags seem to be filmed in a way where you can only see the red and white stripes, but not what’s in the blue box portion (a Nazi or Confederate symbol, perhaps?), and everything from white, sausage-like hot dogs being served to an ashtray that looks like a swastika.
So is this case closed on Peacemaker’s DC2 being the worst dimension ever? Maybe, maybe not. Wiseau_serious supposedly published a selfie to prove he is who he says he is, but according to a comment, he deleted it as another user threatened to out him to Central Casting. He does note other details like the billboard for Mighty Crabjoys not being on set (it was likely digitally added later). And he also adds that he was one of the Boravian soldiers in Superman, which he says was filmed outside Macon, Georgia, in a sand mine.
So it’s entirely possible he’s on the level, or this might be someone playing for clout on Reddit. We’ve reached out to Wiseau_serious for confirmation, but did not receive a response by publication time.
