This is Comic Book Club News for August 28, 2025.

Hulk Smashes Everything In New Marvel Miniseries:

Writer Ryan North recently pitted the entire Marvel Universe against The Thing in Marvel All-On-One. And now it’s the strongest there is’s turn with Hulk: Smash Everything, a new five-issue miniseries featuring art by Vincenzo Carratù.

Said North said via press release, “Hulk is a perfect character, and Phillip Kennedy Johnson is doing incredible things with him in Incredible Hulk. This series is an evergreen (no pun intended) story that features an ever-increasing series of things being smashed by Hulk across all five issues. It goes to some wild places that I promise you are not expecting (and one, if you know me, that you are) and, through all the chaos and smashing, also tells what I think is a pretty sweet story about this big green guy.”

Marvel promises that the Hulk won’t just be taking on people, he’ll also be fighting dinosaurs, gravity, and cosmic forces.

Hulk: Smash Everything #1 hits stores on December 3.

Bug Wars Continues With Spyder Wytch Special:

Spyder Wytch, Spyder Wytch, does whatever a spider… Twitch? I dunknow, we’ll workshop that one. And we have time, as Jason Aaron and Mahmud Asrar’s Bug Wars won’t continue with The Spyder Wytch Special until January of 2026.

In the tarantula-sized one-shot, the duo will deliver, per PR, “stories of the mysterious and deadly Spider Sect, including the adventures of the exiled warrior sorceress, Wysta the Wayward Wytch.” Helping Asrar on art will be Baldemar Rivas.

Curious about the whole Bug Wars thing? You can find out all about it when the Bug Wars: Book One trade paperback hits comic book stores on October 8. In it, young Slade Slaymaker discovers a whole world is outside in his backyard, full of dangerous, warring insect factions — most of whom want to kill his brother.

Bug Wars: The Spyder Wytch Special #1 hits stores in January 2026, and Bug Wars Book Two is planned for some time after that.

Ballpoint Returns In Worst Bot Ever Sequel:

Ballpoint, aka the worst Decepticon ever, is back in the Skybound sequel Transformers: Worst Bot Ever – Bot Swap! by Brian “Smitty” Smith and Marz Jr.

Following up on his turn from dubious Decepticon to awesome Autobot, Ballpoint, who transforms into a pen, causes a mishap with an experimental weapon that makes him swap bodies with none other than Megatron. And that might be good for Ballpoint, but what will the Decepticon leader do in the body of the tiny Worst Bot Ever?

Said Smith, “I’m absolutely thrilled to deliver more adventures of the bot with the biggest ego (and even bigger heart). Ballpoint has made an immediate impact with TRANSFORMERS fans of all ages, you’re gonna want to buckle up for this next ride!” 

The all-ages graphic novel Transformers: Worst Bot Ever – Bot Swap! will hit comic book shops on June 17.
