This is Comic Book Club News for August 27, 2025.

Wiccan Gets Solo Series From Marvel:

Right on time for when we’re all thinking and talking about Marvel character Wiccan walking The Witches’ Road in the Disney+ show Agatha All Along, which streamed almost a year ago, Marvel Comics is releasing Wiccan’s first solo series, appropriately titled Wiccan: Witches’ Road.

Yes, I’m being a little sarcastic about the comic book industry’s usual “oh, you loved that TV or movie thing? Just wait until we get around to it, too, it’s gonna be a while, though,” pace of release, Marvel has assembled a great creative team for this book: Wyatt Kennedy and Andy Pereira.

And the book does actually follow something current: Wiccan and Hulkling’s status in Imperial, which last left them stranded in space with dwindling supplies of air. Per PR from Marvel, seems like Hulkling comes out the worse for the wear from the title, so Wiccan heads down, down, down the road to help save him.

Wiccan: Witches’ Road #1 hits stores on December 3, 2025.

’68 Compendium Coming From Image Comics:

Time to enter the… Brains… Of Darkness with ’68 Compendium from Image Comics, a new volume that will collect all 30 issues of the Vietnam War-set zombie series.

Created by Mark Kidwell, Nat Jones, and Jay Fotos, the new trade will include the ’68 one-shot, the first four-issue miniseries, and much more. It all kicks off on, per PR, “February 13, 1968, during the darkest days of the Vietnam War, the gates of Hell opened wide, unleashing new and hungry life into the countless war-torn dead. Junkyard Joe meets The Walking Dead in this military-horror mashup.”

’68 was first published in 2006 by Image, then republished in 2011 and ran through five miniseries and six one-shots. It has been previously collected in six trade paperbacks, though the new Compendium collects all the issues together in one place for the first time.

’68 Compendium hits comic book stores on October 8.

BRZRKR Heads To The High Seas:

Yo-ho, it’s a pirate’s life for B, as BRZRKR: The Bleeding Tide will send the Keanu Reeves character to the high seas for some swashbuckling adventures in a new one-shot from BOOM! Studios.

Written by Marjorie Liu with art by Garry Brown, per PR, “When a pirate captain follows a strange heartbeat into the depths of the ocean, she finds a box chained in irons—and the deformed mass of the immortal warrior B. inside it. Now awakened, B. must jump into battle to defend the crew from an ambush at sea despite rising concerns. What is the captain after with such a dangerous bounty on her head, and more importantly, what is she hiding?”

The issue joins other one-shots spinning off the character co-created by Reeves, all by all-star creators, thrusting the immortal warrior into different eras. BRZRKR: The Bleeding Tide #1 hits stores on November 26, 2025.

For Comic Book Club News, I’m Alex Zalben. And I guess I could have gone for B heads to the seas as well. Ah, next time.
