Spider-Man (Tom Holland) is back in action in Glasgow, as Sony has revealed a behind-the-scenes video from the first day shooting on the set of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The new MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) movie kicked off just the (really need to stop using this word) day across the pond, and is actually about 10 or so days into filming at this point. But with videos from the set popping up everywhere online, it seems like Sony wanted to put out something more official, instead.
In the one-minute-long look, we see Holland in and out of costume as he greets director Destin Daniel Cretton, and remarking, “putting the suit on, it feels different this time, somehow.” The reason, or part of the reason? “It’s the first time we’ve ever had fans on set for day one,” Holland notes.
The stunt in question finds Spider-Man riding on a tank with a strange demon-head stencil on it, trying to tear it open as it rockets through the streets of Glasgow — standing in for New York City. Mild spoilers here, but based on the footage from the set, the tank eventually crashes as Spider-Man is behind it, riding on a car. And as for who is driving the tank? Holland teases “there are some familiar faces on set,” which may mean Michael Mando — who is joining the cast as Mac Gargan after a brief appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
He’s likely not talking about his The Odyssey cast-mate Jon Bernthal, who is currently finishing up filming a Punisher one-shot special in New York City. But hey, could be anyone. Could be you!
Watch the video below. Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters on July 31, 2026.
