This is Comic Book Club News for August 4, 2025.

Venom Gets A New Red And Blue Suit:

Venom – or a version of Venom — is getting a red and blue suit of his own in Battleworld #3.

In the new series by Christos Gage and Marcus To, a group of characters from throughout the multiverse are brought together to battle, per the name of the planet. And one of those characters is an alternate-universe Venom created by writer Jordan Morris and artist Luciano Vecchio, who debuted earlier in 2025 in Spider-Verse: New Blood #1. The “new” Venom will debut in Battleworld, then spin off (no pun intended) into a back-up story in Venom #252 by Morris and Jesús Saíz.

And to be clear, this isn’t Venom, it’s a Venom, with a mysterious backstory. You can learn more when Battleworld #3 hits stores on November 26, and Venom #252 hits stores on December 3.

Friday Gets A New Collection:

Paging Rebecca Black: Ed Brubaker and Marcos Martín’s Eisner and Harvey Award-winning series Friday is getting a deluxe hardcover collection from Image Comics.

Also featuring colors by Muntsa Vicente, the book will include all nine issues of Friday, as well as some cool extras.

Here’s the official synopsis of the series, which first premiered online at Panel Syndicate:

In Friday, readers meet Friday Fitzhugh, an amateur sleuth who spent her childhood solving crimes and digging up occult secrets with her best friend Lancelot Jones, the smartest boy in the world. But that was the past, now she’s in college, starting a new life on her own. Or trying to, at least, until a trip home for the holiday tugs her back into Lance’s orbit and the two discover something very strange and dangerous is happening in their little New England town…

Friday Deluxe Edition will hit comic book shops on November 12, and book stores on November 25, neither of which are on Fridays. Sorry, Rebecca.

Marvel Rivals Gets RPG Module:

If you’ve ever played Marvel Rivals and thought “I wish this moved less,” then we’ve got great news for you: Marvel Rivals: Timestream Adventure is a special one-shot for the Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game.

Written by Paul Allor and Marty Forbeck, the new adventure will follow the characters from Marvel Rivals, including Psylocke, Emma Frost, and Jeff the Land Shark, as they try to escape from the Collector’s Museum. The RPG also includes a 10-page comic written by Allor, with art by Ig Guara which takes place before the events of Marvel Rivals.

Marvel Rivals Timestream Adventure will hit stores in March of 2026.
