Just one day after a thrilling eight seconds of dark close-ups of the new Spider-Man suit from Spider-Man: Brand New Day were dropped online by Sony, notorious Marvel scooper Tom Holland has leaked a look at the new suit in full — or at least a good look at the top half, pants be damned.
Alongside a slow, meditative score by Michael Giacchino (or at least someone playing his Spider-Man theme), Holland hops in front of a stage door in the expansive, 22-second look, then walks towards camera where you can clearly see the new red and blue suit, an updated version of the much shinier one he wore in the closing minute of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
“We ready?” asks Holland, clearly talking to his team of Marvel scoopers who leak news on the internet, before looking at the camera and then heading off to shoot the new MCU movie, which is now in production in Glasgow, the traditional home of Spider-Man, Scotland’s greatest hero.
That’s pretty much it, but it wraps up a relatively muted “Spider-Man Day” holiday that nonetheless kicked off production (full disclosure, Scotland is standing in for New York) on the movie, as well as revealing that Mark Ruffalo is joining the cast as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, alongside Michael Mando who returns as Mac Gargan/The Scorpion after his brief appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017.
Also in the cast are Jon Bernthal as The Punisher/Frank Castle, Sadie Sink as a mysterious redhead (could it be Little Orphan Annie???), and The Bear star Liza Colón-Zayas, also in a mystery role (Miss Hannigan???).
Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are also expected to return for the new movie as Michelle Jones and Ned Leeds, respectively, alongside Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. And Destin Daniel Cretton, director of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is picking up directing duties on this one.
