It’s hard to market an invisible variant cover, so thankfully, Skybound and Image Comics are going a different route for their upcoming series Universal Monsters: The Invisible Man. Instead, they’re releasing a series of extremely visible covers designed by David Aja that provide throwback dialogue-heavy looks at the titular maniac.
Written by James Tynion IV with art by DANI, and colors by Brad Simpson, The Invisible Man is the latest in the Universal Monsters series, reinventing the classic movies through new eyes. And Aja will do the same with “pulp” variant covers, which will be provided as one in ten incentive variants, for all four issues of the series.
In addition to Aja’s covers, there are also main covers by DANI and Simpson, as well as variants by Joshua Middleton, Rosemary Valero O’Connell, Alex Ross, and Christian Ward, along with a blank sketch cover.
Universal Monsters: The Invisible Man #1 (of 4) will hit comic book stores on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. You can check out Aja’s covers and order info, below.
