‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Battle Nexus’ Is The ‘Turtles In Time’ Of Comic Book Events

It’s going to be a busy year for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at IDW. Gene Luen Yang and Freddie E. Williams II are taking over as the new creative team. The Turtles will be tackling Godzilla himself in an upcoming event series. And now they’ll also be going full Turtles in Time, as TMNT characters from every era battle it out in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: BATTLE NEXUS.

The five-week event is kicking off in November, and in it the Turtles, their allies, and enemies enter a “multidimensional tournament,” because brawls are all the rage this year. Per IDW, characters will be from “various incarnations of the franchise – including the classic Shredder from Mirage Studios, Metalhead from the 2012 animated series” and “Slash returning from the dead and the IDW debut of Ninjara.”

The event also boasts a team big enough to fight it out on their own (though we hope they collaborate peacefully) including: writers Tom Waltz, Paul Allor, Sophie Campbell, Caleb Goellner, and Erik Burnham; and artists the Escorza brothers, Ben Bishop, Vitor Cafaggi, Omar Francia, and Hendry Prasetya.
