‘One World Under Doom’ Finale Tees Up A Battle To Be The Next Sorcerer Supreme

Who will be America’s Next Top Sorcerer Supreme? As teased at the Marvel Comics: Next Big Thing Panel at San Diego Comic-Con, after Doom’s rule over Earth falls in One World Under Doom #9, it’s time for a battle to become the protector of Earth. Seems counter-productive, but what do I know?

The issue will be written as usual by Ryan North, with art by R.B. Silva. Debuting in November, it’ll bring to a close a massive nine months of storytelling, and shows how Doctor Doom’s reign falls, what’s next, and who will take over his current position as Sorcerer Supreme.

“The story is in two parts,” North said about One World Under Doom #9 via press release. “[In the second part], you’re kind of waiting for the other shoe to drop, because there’s no way he’s doing what he’s doing without any consequences. So in the second half, you see what’s going on behind the scenes… There is some stuff coming up that I’m very excited for. I know issue nine is the conclusion, but issue eight has some big stuff that I’m very excited about.”

…Or rather, while One World Under Doom will finish the Doom part, there are a ton of candidates for the position, as seen in some promo art by Devmalya Pramanik:

As you might be able to figure out with One World Under Doom ending in November, that means this next event begins in December because IT NEVER ENDS, FOLKS. IT ALL JUST KEEPS GOING AND GOING. Anyway.
