They say don’t bring a knife to a gun fight, but what do you bring to a Knightfight? How about so many Batmans? And that’s exactly what will happen in the DC Comics DC K.O. spinoff miniseries Knightfight, which was announced yesterday (July 24) at San Diego Comic-Con.
Written by Joshua Williamson with art by Dan Mora, the new miniseries will find Batman in god mode after (presumably) winning multiple battles in the upcoming contest of champions-style event, which pits 36 heroes against each other to try and gain enough power to take on Darkseid. But more specifically in Knightfight, Batman is pitted against a series of Robins from alternate universes where Batman either died or gave up the cowl, and then they became Batman.
“One of Batman’s biggest fears is, what will happen to his children?” said Williamson on the DC All In panel at SDCC, via Popverse. “It’s Batman up against the Robins… But the versions of those Robins if they became Batman. It’s Batman/Jason Todd, Batman/Damian, Batman/Dick.”
Given there are four Batmans on the cover above Batman, rather than being left out of the fun it’s likely one of those is Tim Drake, as well. Or perhaps Stephanie Brown? Probably not, but one can hope she comes into the fight as… Pause for effect… A spoiler.
No other details, including debut date, were shared at this time, but you can check out some cool Dan Mora art below
