On today’s Comic Book Club News, we’re taking a look through the highlights from the DC Comics October 2025 solicits.
This is Comic Book Club News for July 21, 2025.
DC Comics October 2025 Solicits Highlights:
This October, DC begins the brawl to end them all with DC K.O., a new event series that finds Earth transformed by the Heart of Apokolips, and 36 DC heroes forced to fight to gain enough Omega Energy to become King Omega and take down Darkseid. And of course that will spin off into multiple tie-in issues throughout October, and the upcoming months, just like a fight spilling out of the ring.
One of those tie-ins? The Flash #26, which finds Mark Waid and Christopher Cantwell taking over the title, with Impulse deciding to fix everything by creating “Impulsepoint.”
But the main DC Universe isn’t the only one with events in October. Absolute Evil invades the Absolute Universe, with a one-shot teaming up all the bad guys, including “several shocking new character
reveals, and one big unmissable twist.” Also in the Absolute Universe, Daniel Warren Johnson writes and draws Absolute Batman 2025 Annual, which shows the origin of Batman’s massive Batmobile.
Over to Batman, it seems like Batman #163, the final part of H2SH, has shifted again, and is no longer on the schedule for the end of October. However, Matt Fraction and Jorge Jiménez’s new Batman #2 will be on stands, leading to Maximum Confusion. Poison Ivy 2025 Annual is written as usual by G. Willow Wilson, but sports art by Mark Buckingham, a great fit for the dark fairy tale series. And Gotham Academy: First Year heads back to the lauded YA series.
Superman Red & Blue Special #1 features all-stars including Paul Dini, Rainbow Rowell, and more. Kami Garcia returns to a gritty, realistic Gotham City where Harley Quinn hunts serial killers in the sequel Joker/Harley: Malicious Intent #1. Green Lantern Dark delivers the final issue of the superhero fable from Tate Brombal and Werther Dell’Edera. And the next DC W.I.P. issue focuses on American Vampire, with an oversized presentation of Rafael Albuquerque’s art and a new intro from the artist.
For Comic Book Club News, I’m Alex Zalben. And from K.O. to W.I.P., T.I.L. DC sure does love their acronyms, L.M.A.O.
