The nominees for the 2025 TCA (Television Critics Association) Awards are here, and Marvel’s Agatha All Along and DC Studios’ The Penguin have nabbed one nomination each. The big “winner,” though? Apple TV+’s Severance, which snagged five nominations.

The 41st Annual Awards are nominated and voted on by members of the TCA (full disclosure: I am a member of the TCA), a non-profit organization of 235 professional TV journalists from North America. This year’s awards honor TV broadcast during the 2024-2025 television season, in 12 different categories.

“With these nominations, we honor the art of television and the artists who create it,” said TCA President Andy Dehnart, the founder and editor of reality blurred, via a press release provided to Comic Book Club. “Our members independently selected these nominees, having championed these shows and in their writing, reporting, and criticism throughout the past year.”

In addition to the 12 categories listed below, the TCA will also award The Career Achievement and Heritage Award, winners of which will be announced later this summer.

As for the purview of this site — aka, “nerd stuff” — both Agatha All Along and The Penguin were nominated in the category Outstanding Achievement in Movies, Miniseries or Specials. Marvel snagged one additional nomination for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, in the category Outstanding Achievement in Family Programming.

Andor wasn’t the top (that was still Severance, it hasn’t changed in five paragraphs), but it did get three nominations for the Star Wars show: Program of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Drama, and Individual Achievement in Drama (Diego Luna).

Heartstopper, based on Alice Oseman’s graphic novel series, also snagged one nomination in the Outstanding Achievement in Family Programming category. And The Last of Us, based on the video game series, also grabbed one nom, for Outstanding Achievement in Drama.

You can read the full list of nominations below, and the winners will also be announced later this summer.
