Beneath the Trees hot sauce?

Random House expands WEBTOON partnership.

This is Comic Book Club News for July 9, 2025.

Ghost Riders Unite In Marvel’s Spirits Of Violence:

There have been a lot of Ghost Riders in the history of Marvel Comics. And pretty much all of them are getting together in the new series, Spirits of Violence.

Written by Sabir Pirzada with art by Paul Davidson, the book will follow up on the events of Spirits of Vengeance and unite: Johnny Blaze, Danny Ketch, Kushala, Hellverine, newcomer Fantasma, and Robbie Reyes, back from his exile in the pages of Avengers. But why is he back? And why are ol’ flamin’ skull-heads back together? To battle the Spirit of Violence, of course.

Teased Pirzada, “Those who read our previous series, Spirits of Vengeance, already know that the host for the Spirit of Violence is none other than Barbara Ketch. That’s right! Danny’s sister has returned from the dead, and she’s already killed Linda Littletrees. That was always intended to be the kickoff to what I’m referring to as the ‘Violent Era’ of Ghost Rider, where all bets are off. The end of issue 2 in particular will prove that we are not playing it safe.”

Spirits of Violence #1 hits stores on October 1.

Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees Gets A Hot Sauce Line:

Patrick Horvath’s Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees is a horror hit from IDW, and has spawned a sequel series, Rite of Spring. But did you know it’s also spawned a hot sauce line?

It’s true! The five hot sauce collection from Jade City Foods includes some bloody original art from the series on the labels, and comes in five varieties, also inspired by the comic. They include: Duck Soup, which is a Birds Eye Pepper Sauce; Just Another Day in the Office, which is Chili Extract Sauce; Don’t Lose Your Head, an Orange Mango Pineapple Habanero Sauce; Head of the Class, a Ghost Pepper Sauce; and the Saw Blade Special, a Mango Habanero Sauce.

Each sauce costs $18, or you can order all five online for $75 total. Now IDW needs to get Sam the serial killer bear on Hot Ones!

Random House Expands WEBTOON Partnership:

Random House is expanding its partnership with WEBTOON. Per ICv2, the print publisher will release 14 new titles collecting the web giant’s comics.

The first three titles announced under the Inklore imprint, which publishes the mega-selling Lore Olympus, are Eleceed in 2026, and Midnight Poppy Land and I Love Yoo both in 2027.

Meanwhile, they will also release three titles for younger readers under the new Ink Pop imprint: School Bus Graveyard and Brass & Sass in 2026, and Swimming Lessons for a Mermaid in 2027.

This continues the centering of WEBTOON’s importance in the comic book industry. Recently, IDW began syndicating titles on the platform, and WEBTOON comics are now becoming a direct pipeline to Hollywood, as well.
