On today’s episode, we’re taking a look at some of the highlights from the DC Comics June 2025 solicits, including Absolute Universe, regular universe, and more.
This is Comic Book Club News for March 25, 2025.
DC Comics June 2025 Solicit Highlights:
DC’s solicits for June are here, previewing what to expect from the publisher three months from now. So, bookmark this or whatever.
The sequel to the blockbuster Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong is here, reuniting the original creative team and sending the Justice League over to the Monsterverse. Meanwhile, Trinity: Daughter of Wonder Woman begins a time-traveling tale as three versions of Trinity team up together for a crisis on infinite corgis. And Mark Waid kicks off the four-part New History of the DCU, which lays out the official timeline for DC Comics.
In the Absolute Universe, Absolute Batman #9 introduces the Absolute version of Bane. In Absolute Superman #8 the Man of Steel heads to Smallville. Diana enters the Minotaur’s maze in Absolute Wonder Woman #9. And Absolute titles Martian Manhunter, The Flash, and Green Lantern continue, as well.
Let’s turn it over to Batman, as H2SH continues apace in Batman #161 with Robin teaming up with Bane. Robin & Batman: Jason Todd reunites Jeff Lemire and Dustin Nguyen for a story set in Jason Todd’s early days as Robin, pre-crowbar. And in Batman: Dark Patterns #7 a third case begins, focusing on the beginnings of the Red Hood Gang.
Wonder Woman #22 tells a seemingly one-shot tale of Mouse Man, though you may want to keep your eye on that one. Action Comics #1087 welcomes Mark Waid and Skylar Patridge for a story set back in Clark’s Smallville days.
Justice League Unlimited #8 pits the League against the Legion of Doom, and finishes the “We Are Yesterday” crossover event while teeing up DC’s next event. And Justice League: The Atom Project wraps up with issue #6. Krypto: The Last Dog Of Krypton looks like it’ll break your heart as Superman’s best friend searches for his family on Earth. And DC Pride 2025, the publisher’s annual, usually award-winning anthology, hits stands as well.
For Comic Book Club News, I’m Alex Zalben. And I don’t know about you, but I really don’t think Mark Waid is writing enough comic books for DC.
