‘Absolute Flash’ Teases Captain Cold And Captain Boomerang

Absolute Flash is running towards us faster than… Well, something fast. And with the first issue hitting March 5, 2025, DC Comics teased a little of what to expect at today’s Absolute Universe/DC All In panel at New York Comic Con.

Specifically, writer Jeff Lemire discussed how he’s reimagining the Fastest Man Alive for the new universe — and by all rights he seems like the faster BOY alive, based on art from Nick Robles.

First: yes, that’s Wally West. As Lemire previously teased to Comic Book Club, he’s the only Flash in this universe, there’s no Barry Allen or anyone else. But there are some of The Flash’s classic enemies, including Captain Cold, Captain Boomerang, and what looks like Murmur (and another character, probably Golden Glider).

Absolute Flash joins Absolute Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman, as well as Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter, which was also announced at the panel.
