Rogue Fights A Dragon In ‘Uncanny X-Men #1’ First Look And Trailer

The new era of the X-Men is coming at you fast and furious. And while July will see the release of X-Men #1, it’s time to get hyped for August’s big release: Uncanny X-Men #1, written by Gail Simone with art by David Marquez. And in new preview pages for the issue, as well as a trailer for the series, Rogue fights a dragon.

Or, more specifically, Rogue, Gambit, and Wolverine confront Sadurang the God Snake in the preview pages from the issue. Meanwhile, in the trailer, we get a glimpse of a number of previously released pages, including those from the Free Comic Book Day issue. The teases there though are that Cyclops’ team, which is in Alaska in X-Men, seems to have ideologically broken from Rogue’s team, which will be based in Louisiana. Also maybe Gambit stole the Eye of Agamotto? I dunknow.

“The shadows of the giants who have worked on this book are all over the landscape, and it gets a little emotional to think about,” Simone shared via a press release provided to Comic Book Club. “Everyone has an X-Man they feel speaks to them directly. There’s no other franchise like it in comics. It’s an honor and a thrill and a panic, all at once. My first idea was, I want to lay out a welcome mat for all readers: new, returning and lifelong. They deserve the best mutant stories I can give them. I want to focus on the humanity, no pun intended. Big action, big personalities.”

You can check out the pages — and trailer — below. Uncanny X-Men #1 hits stores on August 7, 2024.
