The new comics this week? They are back, my friend. Oh, we are so back for the week of June 19, 2024, or June 18 if you’re DC Comics. So let’s get into some highlights.
The biggest new release from Marvel is probably the weirdest: Uncle Scrooge and the Infinity Dime #1, from writer Jason Aaron and a cadre of artists. This is the first time an Uncle Scrooge comic has been pubbed by Marvel, and it’s going full multiverse. Otherwise, I’m very curious to see what happens in She-Hulk, which they’ve been hyping for months at this point. And Ultimate Spider-Man continues to be a must-read.
DC has a very light week, but there’s a new Batman comic, so there you go. In it, Batman confronts his clone, who has clone aging disease. We’re also slowly wrapping up Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo’s run on Nightwing. And Wonder Woman brings on the Wonder Girls.
Archie Comics continues their stunning Judgment Day this week (seriously, the art is hellaciously awesome). BOOM! Studios brings back Briar, and has new issues of I Heart Skull-Crusher and Man’s Best, as well as Uncanny Valley. Dark Horse has The Writer, a new book from Josh Gad and friends, along with new issues of Helen of Wyndhorn and The Butcher’s Boy. And Image has lots o’ stuff, but two highlights are Destro #1 continuing the Energon Universe, and Misery #1, continuing the Spawn Universe.
