Top 11 DC Comics For June 2024

Best DC Comics June 2024

DC Comics June 2024 is a wild array of books ranging a wild array of ages and focuses. Which I know sounds as vague as humanly possible, but bear with me.

You’ve got big events like House of Brainiac and Absolute Power. You’ve got tie-ins to TV shows like My Adventures with Superman. And then you’ve got not one, but two out-of-continuity lines with Black Label and Elseworlds. Add in specials for Pride month, and your regular assortment of comics, and like I said… Lots going on.

Don’t worry, though. We’ve gone through the full list of new comics coming from the publisher this month and culled out 11 picks for the ones we think are the hottest, coolest, other temperature books to pick up. So read on for our picks for the best of the best for June 2024 from DC.

1. My Adventures With Superman #1

My Adventures With Superman #1

Release Date: June 4, 2024

Josie Campbell, the Co-Producer of the Adult Swim series, writes a comic book story set between seasons of the show. The series is great, this comic looks great, can’t wait.

2. SHAZAM! #12

Shazam #12

Release Date: June 4, 2024

I believe June 4 has been officially named Josie Campbell Day by DC Comics, because her excellent run on SHAZAM! continues this week, as well. The ongoing mystery of the separation between Billy Batson and the, er, Captain, comes to a head here.

3. DC Pride: A Celebration Of Rachel Pollack #1

DC Pride: A Celebration of Rachel Pollack

Release Date: June 4, 2024

The late, great Rachel Pollack gets an oversized tribute issue featuring Coagula, the first-ever trans superhero, created by Pollack. Not only does this include a reprint, it also includes a new story written by Pollack’s friend, Joe Corallo.

4. Batman: Gotham By Gaslight – The Kryptonian Age #1

Batman: Gotham By Gaslight - The Kryptonian Age #1

Release Date: June 11, 2024

I’ll admit a little bit of confusion about why we need an Elseworlds label when Black Label already exists. But hey, it’s back! And the first title out of the gate is a sequel to one of the most regarded Elseworlds stories of all time, albeit with a new creative team.

5. Green Lantern #12

Green Lantern #12

Release Date: June 11, 2024

Green Lantern has been bringing the heat with the relationship of Hal Jordan and Carol Ferris, and it comes to a head this issue. Someone fan me!

6. Nightwing #115

Nightwing #115

Release Date: June 18, 2024

The “Heartless Saga” continues as Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo continue to wrap up their run on Nightwing. I will treasure every issue as if it is one of my own children.

7. Wonder Woman #10

Wonder Woman #10

Release Date: June 18, 2024

The past few issues have been non-stop tension with Diana captured by The Sovereign. This issue, the Wonder Girls go to save her — but can we expect another gut-punch? Probably! Also, I really hope we see Wonder Woman’s rat friend again.

8. Superman #15

Superman #15

Release Date: June 25, 2024

House of Brainiac ends in this issue and passes the baton to Absolute Power. And we love a good baton pass, don’t we, folks?

9. Absolute Power: Ground Zero #1

Absolute Power Ground Zero #1

Release Date: June 25, 2024

The event that kicked off in the Absolute Power free comic book day issue, and kicks off next month in Absolute Power #1, kicks off here! I’m being facetious, but this is written by Mark Waid, Chip Zdarsky, Nicole Maines, and Joshua Williamson, so it should be a good time.

10. Zatanna: Bring Down The House #1

Zatanna Bring Down The House #1

Release Date: June 25, 2024

My most anticipated issue of the month, this comes from Mariko Tamaki and Javier Rodriguez, sends Zatanna to Vegas, and lets the team go hog wild. This is what the Black Label imprint was made for.

11. Batman: Off-World #5

Batman Off-World #5

Release Date: June 25, 2024

The penultimate issue of Jason Aaron and Doug Mahnke’s Batman-in-space story, every issue of this has been darn good.
