Marvel’s ‘Ironheart’ Finally Premieres In 2025

Riri Williams Ironheart in Black Panther Wakanda Forever

The double hit of COVID and the SAG-AFTRA/WGA strikes delaying things (boo to the former, yay to the latter) jumbled up Marvel Studios’ schedule quite a bit. But perhaps no project got hit harder than the Disney+ series Ironheart, which finally has a release… Well, year. Ironheart will finally premiere some time in 2025, as just announced at Disney’s Upfront presentation to advertisers.

Starring Dominique Thorne, the six-episode series was first announced way back in 2020. Thorne was introduced as Riri Williams, a teen who is inspired by Iron Man to develop an armor of her own, at least in the comics. In the MCU, she was basically ready to go in 2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The spinoff got into production soon after that, with Anthony Ramos joining the cast as Parker Robbins, the demonically powered villain known as The Hood. Also in the cast are Alden Ehrenreich, Lyric Ross, Matthew Elam, Anji White, Manny Montana, and Shea Couleé, as well as Cree Summer, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Jim Rash.

Despite production wrapping in November 2022, through various hiccups and changes of strategy, Ironheart has sat around, pretty much done by all reports (though reshoots did happen earlier this year). And now, after five years, Ironheart will finally see the light of day. At least until the next delay.
