Zoe Thorogood Returns With New Image Series Vampire On Aisle 6:
Zoe Thorogood is already an iconic creator thanks to her breakout It’s Lonely At The Centre Of The Earth. And now she’s teaming up with Joe Whiteford of the band Harley Poe for Image Comics‘s Vampire on Aisle 6. And not only is this a three-issue series, it’s also an album.
Said Thorogood, “Vampire on Aisle 6 is a comic + album about a self-proclaimed vampire trapped in a mascot-themed grocery store. It’s a story about traumatic change and the isolation that follows. We hope readers/listeners are ready for an unconventional vampire story and understand, that really, It’s All Just Meat.”
Alongside the comic, Whiteford will release eight new Harley Poe songs that “reveal insight to the story and its characters. It’s a lovely punk rock collaboration of music and art, and it’s definitely not your average vampire tale.”
Vampire on Aisle 6 #1 hits stores on December 23, 2026.
Dynamite’s Ben 10 Has Sold 500,000 Copies:
Ben Tennyson is going to have to change his name to Ben Fivehundredthousandson, as Dynamite has announced the first five issues of the Ben 10 comic book series have sold over 500,000 copies to retailers and readers.
Mamma mia, that’s a lot of comics! That’s my new catchphrase.
Anyway, the usual caveat here that this is orders by comic book stores. So while some or perhaps even many of these copies may be comic book readers pre-ordering, it doesn’t represent actual POS (point of sale) to customers, so actual figures may vary. That said, I’m willing to give this one a little bit of a slide because it’s clear Ben 10 has been an organic success with fans, and clearly been building nicely over the first few issues.
While the main title will take a break in October, it’ll be replaced by Ben 10: Creator Files, a look behind the scenes of the first issue of the series including some sketches and other new material. That will be followed by writer Joe Casey taking the lead starting with Ben 10 #6, which will hit stores on November 4 and has its FOC (Final Order Cut-off) this week. And per Dynamite’s release about the sales, “All main covers for the issue will come with a free poster featuring exclusive new art by Duncan Rouleau.”
In addition, the trade paperback collecting Ben 10 issues #1-#5 will hit stores on November 4.
2026 Ringo Awards Winners Announced:
The winners of this year’s Ringo Awards have been announced at this past weekend’s Baltimore Comic Con. And as usual, it’s a wide array of winners; a Golden Globes to the Eisner’s Oscars.
Per The Beat, Absolute Batman won Best Series, while Dark Horse’s Bowling with Corpses won Best Anthology. Deniz Camp won Best Writer, Javier Rodriguez won Best Artist, and DC’s Nothing Butt Nightwing won Best Humor Webcomic.
While there were plenty more awards, we’ll also highlight that two self-published books won awards: Making Your First Comic won Best Comics-Related Publication; and Chest Face won Best Short Story.
Congrats to all the winners!
