After a week off, DC Comics‘s Absolute Universe is back to the top of the charts with Absolute Cassandra Cain: The Shadow’s Hand taking the top slot for the week of September 15-21.
Overall, DC Comics took 142 slots on the Top 400 best-selling comics of the week, up from last week with Absolute Green Arrow continuing to sell big as well. However, the big story of this week is crossover events, baby! Three issues of Batman: Bad Seeds from DC hit the Top 10, alongside both issues of the DNX crossover from Marvel, including DNX #1 at number two on the list.
Marvel got 112 slots on the Top 400, with Avengers: Armageddon picking up steam (possibly on the heels of that big reveal), and Daredevil continuing to debut strong, month after month.
The lone other publisher in the Top 10 was Tiny Onion/Image Comics with Exquisite Corpses: Fox Mask Killer #1, proving the death game franchise is no one and done hit. Scrolling a little farther down, IDW ranked next highest at number 25 for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #22, BOOM! has proven to have a hellraising hit on its hands with Hellraiser Resurrections – The Deep Gospel at number 28, and Dynamite’s Space Ghost vs. Herculoids debuted at number 41.

*Sales charts are based on data from Prana Direct Market Solutions, which culls together POS (Point of Sale) data from 600+ comic book stores that use the Manage Comics and Comic Shop Assistant systems. That means direct sales to 80,000+ customers, versus orders from comic book stores. But it also means this is a representative sample, and not complete data nor does it contain actual sales figures. Short version, it’s a good reference point, but actual sales data may vary.
