Sabrina The Teenage Witch Meets Vampirella In New Dynamite Series

Witches and vampires, oh my! Archie Comics and Dynamite are crossing over once again with Sabrina the Teenage Witch X Vampirella, a new series written by Tini Howard with art by Bill Galvan and Ben Galvan.

“I love Vampi — as a goth girl growing up her look and vibe was always important to me. I think Nancy Collins’ work was some of the first I ever read about her and I love her voice under Nancy’s pen — smart and curious but also clever and funny in a very cool way,” said Howard via press release. “As for Sabrina, Chilling Adventures is one of those comics that inspired me so much, I had no idea that kind of reinvention was possible. Getting to write a version of Sabrina that is an exploration of her dark powers with the look of a classic Archie beach party is so much fun.”

So how do these two icons meet? Desperate for a summer vacation, Sabrina’s aunts demand that she house sit, so she ends up in an “idyllic beachside town” where she’s trying to hide her magic from nosy neighbors, but one of those neighbors is none other than Vampirella. And the Daughter of Drakulon needs Sabrina’s help.

Sabrina and Vampirella actually sort of crossed over earlier this year, as both characters appeared in DC’s DC K.O.: Boss Battle #1. As for this series, while Dynamite didn’t provide a debut date (expect November) or number of issues in the series, they did reveal that covers will be by Eric Powell, Francesco Francavilla, Sebastián Píriz, and Mike Rooth, as well as the Galvans.
