After over six years and 300 comic strips, Archie Comics‘s Bite Sized Archie is taking one final chomp at your funny bone. That’s right: the frequently viral strip by Ron Cacace and Vincent Lovallo posted its last four panel funny on September 4.
Kicking off back in 2020 with a strip parodying the Game Awards, the weekly offering formatted for social featured all the characters from Riverdale in classic gag format, and even introduced original characters like Spider and Scam Likely.
Part of the impetus for the strip? Cacace’s viral tweets back when he was managing the Archie Comics social accounts, like the iconic “I’m baby” and others. Plus, it was the pandemic, and we all needed a little laugh, if you recall. Not now, though. We’re all doing just fine now.
The strip has even been collected in two trade paperbacks: Bite Sized Archie Volume 1, and Bite Sized Archie: Going Viral. And yes, it’s also all free online (or over on the Archie Comics site), but hey, why not give a little back for 300 weeks of funny, sweet gags?
Congrats to Cacace and Lovallo, and looking forward to whatever is next (Bite Sized Smurfs, perhaps)!
