Circus of Bones: The Art of Mike Mignola Official Synopsis:
Over the span of his career, Mike Mignola has become one of comics’ most influential creators. Beginning in 1982 as an artist for Marvel and DC Comics, he evolved into a singular creative vision shaped by Victorian supernatural literature and European folklore. That vision culminated in Hellboy, launched through Dark Horse Comics in 1994, a landmark series that helped redefine independent comics and grew into the expansive “Mignolaverse.” Marked by stark minimalism, heavy shadows, and masterful use of negative space, drawing from German Expressionism and woodblock printing. His work is instantly recognizable, extending beyond Hellboy to cult favorites like The Amazing Screw-On Head and collaborations such as Baltimore, and earning him numerous Eisner and Harvey Awards while cementing his legacy as a defining storyteller of the modern era.
Circus of Bones: The Art of Mike Mignola continues the groundbreaking partnership between Act 4 Publishing and Skybound. Additional upcoming titles include Jason Pearson’s Body Bags Artist’s Edition, DC Silver Age Covers and Stories Artist’s Edition, and Beta Ray Bill by Daniel Warren Johnson Artist’s Edition.
