DC Comics Announces Plans For Batman Day 2026:
It’s almost Batman Day, aka the time the world finally starts talking about underrated DC Comics character Batman. And to celebrate, the publisher is pulling out all the stops with reprints, Batman masks, and the highly anticipated Batman of Two Worlds, aka the book that (sort of) brings together Absolute Batman and Regular Batman.
First up, let’s talk Batman of Two Worlds. The all-new one-shot features Matt Fraction and Javi Fernández on a regular Batman story, while Scott Snyder and Nick Derington on an Absolute Batman story. The twist? Both Batmans are investigating the same mystery in different universes, so you get to see how each version of Bruce Wayne might handle the same case.
But wait, that’s not all! You can also check out five hardcover releases, including a new cover by Jiménez on Batman, Vol. 1 Daylight homaging Nick Dragotta’s Absolute Batman #1 cover which is likely to be an extremely hot item.
Participating comic book shops will also offer Batman Day masks featuring Batman, Absolute Batman, Hush Batman, and Dark Knight Returns Batman.
Batman Day is September 19, 2026, and don’t forget to call your Batman and tell him you love him.
The Goon Library Edition Returns:
Love The Goon? There’s a brand-new — sort of — way of enjoying Eric Powell’s iconic creation, with the Second Editions of Dark Horse‘s Library Editions of the book, now in a new trim size.
Coming from Dark Horse Books and Albatross Books next Spring, and starting with The Goon Library Edition Volume 1 (Second Edition), the publisher will release all five volumes written and illustrated by Powell in a 7″ x 10″ hardcover printings.
Running 496 pages, the first volume collects the previously published The Goon Volumes 0-3, costs $59.99, and will hit stores on March 2, 2027. The second through fifth volumes of The Goon Library Edition will hit throughout 2027 and 2028, with exact dates TBA.
Savage Dragon Gets A Compendium:
Erik Larsen’s long-running Savage Dragon will get the compendium treatment from Image Comics with a series of massive collections hitting shelves later this year.
Starting with Savage Dragon Compendium, Vol. 1, the first volume will include The Dragon #1-#5, as well as the first 44 issues of Savage Dragon. The collection will also include two covers, including a variant only available at comic book shops. Take that, book shops! You stink!
Savage Dragon, per PR from Image, is “the longest-running, full-color comic book series to feature a single artist/writer.” And this first compendium contains guest appearances from WildC.A.T.s, Spawn, Hellboy, the Maxx, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and even god.
Savage Dragon Compendium, Vol. 1 hits comic book stores on November 18, and bookstores on December 15, 2026.
